Shay Hale had just moved to Miami from California. She struggles in many ways in the new city, she regularly gets bullied and made fun of, she's considered a loner in her new state, but she escapes the world by her music. She may seem like a helpless fourteen year old, but she does a lot by herself. She only opens up to her two best friends Keaton and Nicky, but sadly, they are across the country. That all changes, though, when she meets Chris Jauregui at her X-Factor audition. He forces her to learn to trust and open up too him, but he too has a secret of his own that he keeps from her.
