Chika was born with an incurable and deadly virus in her body. This virus was known as HIV. It was transmitted through her mother. At the age of fifteen, the virus had developed into the syndrome known as AIDS. Forced into the care of medical services, Chika was to spend the rest of her days bedridden. Though her family was of high status and wealth, her family could pay for so many medications, so many treatments and it wouldn't save her, and they knew that. Ayame, Chika's one and only friend, attended the prestigious academy known as Ouran Academy. Being the good friend she was, every day after school she would go to the hospital and visit her ill friend and tell of her school days.

Most of the OHSHC fanfics have female main characters who are insinuated to be Japanese or have no variation. ✦.⁺ Perhaps no one at Ouran is more qualified to deal with a broken heart than the Host Club. With a student's heartbreak painfully obvious to everyone but themself, the Host Club takes it upon themselves to remedy that. All against that student's better judgement.
