She wakes up on the cold hard ground of the maze with only her name she remembers - Mia - struggling finding a way out. She hears strange noises that sound like metal... Before she realises what happens she feels a wall against the back of her head. Thick, warm liquid is running down her neck. Blood. Her sight has blurred, but she can make out a gigantic metallic beast who's throwing her again and again against the wall. She hears a horrifiying noise coming from the beast. It stops throwing her around. One moment later she can make out two figures hovering over her. "Quick, we have to bring her to the glade!" She hears the voice of a boy saying. The voice is getting further away, she loses her senses. The last thing she remembers is someone lifting her up from the ground before she gets swallowed in the darkness.

[EDIT 1] My work is currently undergoing some revisions. I wrote this 5 years ago, and needless to say, some of the dialogue, scenes, wording, and overall feel is quite childish. Not all of it, but some of it. I've decided to revisit my original first story and make it better. The story is definitely much more mature now, and I think everyone will enjoy it better now that the tone has changed to fit the melancholy nature of my story. Thanks in advance.
