Marcus and his brother Marius are under the command of the devious General Pompeius during the campaign of Sicily. The brothers gets ambushed by enemy forces and are separated from the rest of the army. All Marcus can think of is his precious love, Alia back home...

This story takes place during the 2nd century BC and follows the story of the Roman commander/centurion Marcus Scipio in the war against the Kingdom of Carthage.
