Chasing A Lunatic

I walked along the still beach. Pale sand collecting between my toes as the ocean water splashes against my ankles. Staring at the clear night sky, memories replayed over and over through my head.

"I love you."

No you didn't

I held my hands over my ears attemping to block out the noise. I want the memories to go away. I want to erase them forever. I turned my attention to the quiet waters. As tears subsided down my cheeks, my head spinning in many different directions, I began to walk into the ocean. Sobbing, I remember the last things we said.

"I guess this is it."

I guess it is.

I could hear my name being called in the distance as the water began to touch my chin. It was too late. I was finally at peace.
