It was the thrill of the chase, the adrenaline rush, and what if's, but Dorthy Wellington wasn't chasing men. If anything they were chasing her.
She was chasing storms where the cold winds of the north collided with the warm air of the gulf, fueling storm clouds that topped off at 20,000 feet and split the heart of the U.S. in two. Better known as Tornado Alley, and she lived in the center of it all.
"The bigger, the better." she always liked to say, but after a monstrous F5 hits too close to home, it isn't all about the fun anymore. Now she's chasing for a purpose with a team of close friends trailing behind her, all to build the W.I.A.D., a new weather warning system that could find the tornado before it even has a chance to touch down. When the mayor of a small town near the Arkansas-Oklahoma border calls for a consult, she sees an opportunity to test it out, but there's more to Hawthorn, Arkansas than she though. Whether it's the sweet eyed and smart mouthed cowboy, or the town's uncanny knack for attracting tornadoes, something about it keeps her itching to come back
