Emory Taylors; The girl who would do anything to provide a better life for her younger brother, Sebastion. Her family life isn't the best, but she only has one more year before she can get custody and adopt him. 

Emory has this 'Plan' and she had made it when she was only 7 years old. She was going along with it until Carsen Smith came into her life and made her re-think her whole life.

Carsen Smith; One of California's Bad Boys. He cares for no one, not even his friends. He lives alone because he is the legal age of 18. Carsen never talks about his parents to anyone. He doesn't open up to anyone.

That is until one day at Sea World with his Best Friend Brady and his girlfriend Adeline (who happens to be Emory's best friend) that he meets Emory. 

He could see the walls Emory had built up from a mile away and something about her made his cold heart start to beat again.  He is determined to find out what it is about her that was capable of doing that to him.All Rights Reserved

Astren City, and all surrounding area, have the highest crime rate in the northern part of the country. Dozens of crime families constantly trying to take the throne, as well as corruption lurking around every corner, do not aid in that fact at all. Salem Heart's father, Jack Heart, happens to be the Astren City Chief of Police, a title which holds a lot of weight and a rank that claims even more power. Salem is offered a job to help with an investigation that could benefit his future career astronomically. He thinks it's a win-win situation, he gets the recognition he desires, and the streets will be that much safer. It's all black and white to him, easy to understand. He likes the order, and he craves the accomplishment of defeating bad with good. It's all black and white. Until he gets caught in the grey.
