Maya Evans is an unfortunate girl. Her best friend killed himself in a Noodle Store, no one talks to her at school, her friends act like everything's fine, her family is slowly breaking apart and a new kid moves to her town claiming that he's her deceased bestfriends brother.
Ty Davidson is a fortunate boy...sort of. His brother is dead but Ty doesn't know that, he's popular at school, his friends worship him, his foster family died in a car accident and to top it off he moves back to his birth town. That's where he meets Maya, the girl with no words.
Maya and Ty both take an interest for each other and begin talking. Maya tells him about his dead brother and Ty tells her about his life back in his old home. Maya starts pushing her friends away when Ty makes her realise what sort of people they really are. Ty starts getting back with his biologic family when Maya tells him how much he needs them.
In a strange sort of way, they both need one another. They can save each other but non of them realise it.
