"So you're telling me that after all this time, you've been playing with my feelings as if I'm nothing to you?" Rachel said with tears running down her face.

"Yes...I mean no. It was never meant to be this way. I'm sorry." Shawn said as tears threatened to fall from his eyes. He didn't look at her because he feared that he would be the one to cry harder.

Rachel turned to him, continuing to cry, and said with a stern voice, "You're sorry? You're sorry for being the reason for why I cried so many times? You're sorry for being someone who I thought would never hurt me?  Or are you sorry for being the person that broke me?" 

She waited for him to say something but he didn't even look at her. Rachel got up and walked towards the door. Before she turned the knob, she said, "You know... if you meant it, you would've ended us a long time ago. So I want to thank you for being the person who I can never trust again. And also for being the person I hate so much. Have a nice life, Shawn," to him in a low voice. She waited a couple of seconds and just looked at him before she left, hoping he would say something but he never did. Rachel left Shawn's life for good. 

All he could ever think was that he just lost the best thing that ever happened to him as he sobbed with his head in his hands.All Rights Reserved

My heart clenching together underneath my skin, pulse raising as I attempt to make sense out of all this, and the brief illusion of a shadow on the wall behind her, all tease me when I’m trying to think if this is all true. That’s when it happens; his dark hair flowing in his eyes from his lack of going to the hair cutter and his violet eyes deepening the stare between the two of us. Don’t shoot! I’ll do anything! Just don’t kill him. My thoughts scream at me, making my line of concentration grow slimmer with each word. Tears begun to fill the bottom of my eyes, my throat closing to the full extent, my ever so calm hands were trembling at my hips and the requirement of breath vanish from my lungs. His hands run out to calm this girl, speaking softly and letting her know that it will be alright if she simply lets us go. And just as she starts to give in to his pervasive act, the fire alarm sets off, sending her in a protective fury of gunshots. Hitting him dead on. Felt like a bullet to my heart.
