Ishita, having been in love with Arjun for a long time, is ready to spend the rest of her life with him. He, however, has no intention of marrying her. After his rejection, she is heartbroken and left to pick up the pieces alone.

Seeing his only child in pain, Ishita's father ships her off to America where she meets her badass neighbor Joshua Knightly.
