Life was always thought to be simple, you just lived. Some people lives are rougher than others, while some live their entire life like gliding across water. I had wished my life had been the same way, because it had been for my entire life. I never knew someone's life could change so instantly.
I lived in Little Creek. A small little town that was right next to a small little creek that flowed across the forest. We lived outside one of the better known town Silver stone. Nothing ever happened in our small town, or the town next to us. With the ignorance our town held, we never had a reason to build walls, or be terrified of the creatures in the woods.
We all knew the stories, we have heard them since we were young, but yet with there never have being an attack, we didn't know the fear.
These creatures were told to be able to change from a man to a wolf. A werewolf if you may. They were considered vicious killing machines, who lived deep in the woods. These wolves were said to be the size of bears just in wolf form. They were man killers and monsters. They had no human mentality when in wolf form.
We were told that wolves have never entered the small town, because we were so close to civilization. We were told that the town has been monster free for the last 80 years. We were told a lot of things.

I was just a normal girl, despite not being human. Growing up my life was shitty, but still I was glad to be alive despite how dead I felt inside. There wasn't a single person in the world that I could trust. Not a single person that I cared for. Until HE came. My boring life soon vanished, werewolves hunt me from all corners of the earth. Rogues, Alphas, and kings Alike. I was kidnapped, despite him telling people different. Everyone told me he was a monster, the beast that never loved, he didn't feel pain, or remorse. For a while I believed the stories and rumours, until I came to realise that the beast simply acted on the assumptions of others. They called him a beast. They treated him like an animal. So the animal he became. But I could see the pain, the agony that he feels every day of his life. Unable to see the world in colour ever again, completely blind in human form. Slowly I was falling for the Lycan, not realising that he was waiting to catch me. With enemies surrounding me, and old unfamiliar friends appearing out of thin air to reveal secrets that I had long forgotten, things get complicated. Lies are told, secrets are kept, and slowly but surely myself and the beast and ripping each other apart. Will we survive the wars? Or will it destroy us both? The truth is always revealed at one point, no matter how much it rips apart your happy little bubble. With an enemy stronger than us all, and older than time itself, how do we defend ourselves? He is coming for me, and he will kill everyone I've come to love if they step in his way. Little did any of us know that the key to the kings demise, was me. My dream continued the one I'd been having for the past couple of nights. I ran, gasping for breath, through the familiar woods from a dark figure behind me. The faster I tried to run, the slower I seemed to go, until it was like I was running in place. I knew I needed to run. I was terrified of what the figure would do when he caught me. "Mara Leigh," a deep, smooth voice called. It was almost hypnotic. That was new. The figure had never spoke before now. I ran as fast as I could go, eyes searching the forest floor for a big stick or something that I could use to defend myself. "Mara Leigh!" the voice came again, this time more insistent. The forest slowly started to fade and I started to awake to someone shaking my shoulders. "Beau?" I mumbled, turning my head to the side. What's Beau doing in my room this time of night? Why is he shaking me? "Do not call me that name." My eyes flew open as I jumped at the voice from my dream. A face was right in front of mine, and just like the voice, it wasn't Beau. Before I could form a scream, a hand covered my mouth. I tried to bite it but I couldn't get my mouth to open. He's too strong. I started to use my whole body to try to get away, but he crawled on top of me, holding me down. I pulled the hidden knife out from under my pillow and slashed as hard as I could at him, but he just grabbed my wrist and squeezed it until the pain made me drop the knife. Then he grabbed both my hands in one of his and held them over my head. He held me down while I struggled. I grunted and moved and tried to kick and scream, but I only wore myself out. Exhausted, I stopped thrashing and let the tears flow freely down my cheeks. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to prepare myself for whatever was coming.

Paranormal Romance (Werewolf) You know that movie Jerry Maguire? It's about this sports agent who got fired for suddenly having a conscience. Anyway, there's this very romantic scene by the end of the movie when Jerry made this very heartfelt and passionate declaration to his wife. Those words would melt you into a puddle and make you burst into tears thinking, "I want to have that kind of love!" Well that very sweet scene did not happen on this story, not all of it anyway. Don't get me wrong it was heart wrenching, very much so, and there was a passionate declaration. But instead of saying the oh so loving, oh so sweet and oh so scripted "I love you. You complete me..." like Jerry did in the movie, my 'mate', the other half of my soul and the one who 'completes' me said, "I hate you. I wish you were dead!" He said it with disgust and anger burning in his eyes. He didn't run into my arms like he was supposed to, he ran away from it. But who could blame him? Jerry Maguire was right. We live in a cynical world and we work on a business of tough competitors. Why would my mate want to be with me? He'd be shunned and be forever laughed at. Aside from the fact that I was male, I'm basically useless to him because I'm a werewolf who can't phase. He's an alpha. He could have anyone he wants. And me, well, I'm on the bottom of the pack, the runt of the litter. The council didn't know what to do with me. They couldn't kill me since it could drive my mate insane, even if he didn't want me. I can't kill myself because it would probably have the same effect on him. I have to live but I can't be with my mate and my pack. So I made it easier for everyone, I ran away. I always believed in the saying "Out of sight, out of mind." What I didn't consider was the possibility that they'd come after me and forcefully bring me back.

For fifteen years now Werewolves have been known to man, well they've literally taken over. You could say the humans didn't take their existence very well. After 'The War' towns, cities and districts have been divided into territories that would house a pack lead by an Alpha. A person with power who should be obeyed by humans and Weres alike. Yes, they let the humans live, they say it's because they just wanted to live in peace. However, the humans have another idea, they only let them live because there's a chance that one of them could be a Werewolves mate. A mate is a soul mate; someone very important, the one peron who is believed to be perferct for another. Someone a Werewolf is possessive and protective of. Some human's have become accustomed to the idea of Werewolves and being a mate, some even hope for a Were to notice them. Then there are the one's who despise the idea and grovell in silence, silence because the Weres are a dangerous and undefeatable species. Then theres Vanessa, a human who lives with her Mum and Dad and her baby 4 year old brother, Sonny. Like any human she lives in a pack territory controlled by an Alpha. She's 18 now and the unmated males are all hoping for her attention, the gorgeous girl who secretly thinks all Werewolves are monsters like the rest of her family. Read her story and find out how being loved by a monster is and isn't the way Vanessa expected it to be like.
