If there's one thing we've established upon reading her story with Marven, it is that Laurette is awful at expressing herself verbally. She could never voice how beautiful she thought something was, how thrilling the touch of someone was or how much she's wanted to help a person in need. So what does she do? She writes them down.

Over the course of four years, Laurette has written numerous unsent letters to the people she's wanted to work things out with, and those she wanted to inspire. Her fear of rejection has kept her in the way of delivering them, but now that her peers are graduating and possibly seeing her for the last time, she decided to open up her letters and mail every single one of them. Better late than never right?

Prologue In the world of college life, words are often thrown around like confetti-light, colorful, and sometimes lacking substance. They say things to fill the silence, to create connections, and to express feelings that often remain hidden beneath the surface. But what happens when those words fall flat? When the promises made in fleeting moments fade into echoes of unfulfilled intentions? This is a story about the complexities of communication and the silent battles fought within relationships. It began with a simple smile exchanged in the midst of chaos during National Pharmacy Week-a moment that seemed inconsequential yet held the weight of possibilities. She found herself drawn to him, captivated by the way he spoke, the way he made her feel. But as she discovered, words alone would not be enough to bridge the gap between us. As their paths intertwined, we danced around each other in a series of unsaid feelings, lingering glances, and an unspoken connection that left her yearning for more. But with every promise unkept, the reality became clearer: words are just that-words. They mean little without the actions to back them up. This is the story of Elle's journey through that realization, a tale of fleeting moments, unfulfilled expectations, and ultimately, the power of choosing clarity over confusion. It's about learning that love is not just spoken; it's demonstrated. And in the end, it was a lesson that would change everything she thought she knew about relationships and herself.

Kendall has always lived a quiet life in a small town in Illinois with her family, friends, and boyfriend Jordan. Her life had been mostly happy other than when her best friend moved away when she was 10. It took her years to get over that loss. Then several years later, tragedy struck when her father passed away suddenly and Kendall was forced to move with her mom closer to Chicago where she could find a job to support the two of them. Little does Kendall know that she is in for the surprise of a lifetime. From the book.... As he catches up to me, he grabs my arm swings me around and with one swift movement he ushers me into a nearby empty classroom with the lights off. He cages me in against the wall. His close proximity is making me dizzy and my mind is thinking very dirty thoughts. Wait no. I can't think like that anymore. "Kendall." He says hungrily. "You are mine and only mine. You drive me wild and no one else can have you." He says as he attacks my lips. It feels so amazing I can't help but kiss him back. I run my hands through his beautiful hair and he groans into the kiss. Man I don't want this to ever end. I feel drunk on him. I don't think I can let him go. He stops suddenly to finish his thoughts. "No one can make you feel like this. Or kiss you here...." He says as he kisses down my neck. I moan and he smirks pulling his face impossibly close to mine. "..or touch you." He says as he takes his hand and brushes it lightly down my arm and he snakes it back around my back pulling me even closer if that is possible. He finally stops at my ass which he squeezes delightfully and I hum in response. Warning: Contains graphic sexual content. Read at your own discretion. You will not be warned ahead of time. I've been bullied since as long as I can remember. Dark skin is so this or so that. And it seemed to get worse when I gained weight. "Now not only is she dark, she's fat too!" I couldn't escape it even if I tired. I even attempted to commit suicide. Sitting in the bathtub with nothing but pills a razor and social media looking at all the people that hate you would do that. I tried to make it go away, Lord knows but he had a blessing coming for me. I just had to wait. But I knew even in my waiting it was going to be an uphill battle. Will I win the battle?
