She struggles to find the light in everyday life as people she has grown to love always die anyway, she gives up on life. Her parents were rich, and when she turns 18 she will get all of it. But until then she lives in a home with a foster father that is a cop, and an acholic foster mom. Everything is not as it seems as a new kid makes his way into their group. The truth comes out about past relationships in due times as Rylee still continues to grieve the loss of her best friend.

Their dynamic is unique, in that sometimes they goof off like brothers would, until Shawn gets himself in heaps of trouble and John has to set limits. 😆 Shawn and Maya, after Maya's adoption, learn they are kindred spirits with inseparable personalities. Goofy, spontaneous, and a little dangerous. They've realized how much they need each other, but they have also noticed the disorganized and sometimes reckless nature of their relationship.
