London's chilly weather has to be one of my favourites. Especially when walking through the streets at night with almost no one around. The silence of the empty city is only heard by one of my ears as I have one AirPod in. I finally go inside the pharmacy, making my way to the hair products aisle. Picking up a vanilla-scented pair of shampoo and conditioner, I head to the self-checkout. I pay for my purchase and walk out the automatic doors, bumping into someone almost instantly. The sound of a heavy object hitting the ground startled me and I look over to the person asking if they're okay, I'm met with the green-eyed gaze of a man who held my arm to help me not fall like the thing that was on his back, which looks like a guitar case... Is it broken?! - This story is based on the song "No One Knows" by Stephen Sanchez featuring Laufey. - Lana decided to enjoy her early 20s as a physical education student and just moved to London, but only knows Charlotte, a girl she met during a trip to the city almost a decade ago. When she arrived Charlotte introduced her to Owen, who has been her best friend since birth. Lana started working as a barista and met Isaac, a man who was classmates with Owen a couple years back, and is also her coworker who seemed to enjoy playfully hitting on her, or making her life a living hell, as she would say. On one rainy day, a lonesome Literary school student awoke from his sleep, and see's his Open PC which displayed a blank page on its screen. Seeing this reminded him of his stagnant, unfulfilling, and dull life. Even though he wants to write, he finds himself wasting his precious hours on playing games and watching videos on the internet. Hating himself for not only wasting his parents' money for the school tuition, but he also hates himself for all his wasted opportunities. He continues with his days of misery until one day, a friend of his invites him to go out and walk around the city. With nothing else to do he accepts his invite. Regret, fatigue, anxiety, and never-ending self-pity, all of these have haunted him in his past 2 years and hampered his progress, but in this short trip with his friend helps him take his first steps in combating and adjusting towards those uncomfortable feelings and rekindles a passion that he has long lost.

I ran downstairs and opened the door. I looked around but didn't see anyone. I stood watching the light rain falling when I heard a quiet sound on the porch. I turned and there I saw Zac looking at me. I didn't think he actually stayed, that was probably why Mr. Johanson called. "Hi Zac, shouldn't you be at your house?" He smiled slightly. "No, I'm here, for you." I stared and his eyebrow raised just a little. "Okay...." I walked over to him slowly and leaned on the fence beside him. He looked down at me, having I was leaning and I was shorter than he was, just by a little bit. "What are you doing here?" I asked. He looked up and turned to the rain. "I heard your birthday is coming up." I was surprised, I hadn't told anyone yet. "Well, yes, yes it is." He turned back to me. "I was wondering. For your birthday, do you want to...." I looked up at him. "Want to what?" He stared at me in the eyes, I could tell he was nervous, but I let him go on. "Go to the somewhere with me.... on a....." My eyes opened wide. "Really???" He smiled. "For real." I stopped leaning and looked up. "Yes!" "It's settled. Saturday? At the park, 12:00." Zac said. I nodded. "Of course, see ya then." He smiled looking carefully at me. He held out his hand for me to shake, but instead, I hugged him. He seemed surprised and both his hands were awkwardly out, but then he put his arms around me and hugged back. "See ya MK." "Don't even think about it." I stood frozen in place as he said those words from behind me, which sent shivers down my spine. The rain started running down my face as I started thinking of a way out of here. My body trembled in fear knowing that he could easily hurt me. I'm not strong against someone like him Thoughts raced through my mind as I tried to think of a way to get away from him. But there was nothing but endless trees around me. I blinked away the water running into my eyes due to the rain. My thoughts were disturbed when he suddenly spun me around to face him, his face just inches away from mine. "P-Please don't hurt m-me." I stuttered out. I tried to sound brave and not let my fear show, but my mouth betrayed me. His golden red eyes flickered with a hint of pain for a moment then back to a cold stare, "I'd never hurt you, never put you in harm's way and I'm never letting him take you from me, you're mine." He said in a deep low voice, almost a growl, and his eyes seemed to have gotten darker. 'What the hell is that supposed to mean?!' I tried taking a step back but his grip on my arm tightened. It hurt. "L-let me go, you, you're hurting me!" I looked up at him scared, his eyes were now completely dark, and the next thing I noticed were pointed teeth poking out from his lips. I screamed and pushed at him but he didn't budge. I then raised my knee and kneed him between the legs with all my force, and he dropped like a rock, holding his groin. Run. I took my chance. And ran. ~~~ Nora Brown, is a normal adult, living a normal life. Moving away from home to start fresh and meet new people. Just going where life takes her. Who knew that just one short encounter at work with a god-like man, would flip her life entirely upside down, and nothing would ever be the same again. So much for normal.
