Aideen Rael is a 17 year old in Chicago preparing for her surgery; a surgery that turns you "normal" and the first step to your adulthood. With only a week left til her surgery, she finds herself afraid of what the surgery could bring to her. 
      The city is separated in two, the civilized city, and The Other Side, where there was no hope left for humans to live in after being bombed. Rebels haunt The Other Side, and are being searched by the government after their rebellious acts; like kidnapping the applicants a day before their surgery. Aideen is frightened by the thought of her only chance to be normal being taken away, but it isn't certain yet if the rebels will act this year.
      The government created a boarder to separate the two lands to keep the people safe, but is that fully true?All Rights Reserved

Demalynn must battle to stay alive and fumbles towards the realization that Aiden is much more than a close friend.
