Its been a month since he died. That's when it started, that's when my life turned for the worse.
After my dad died my mom started drink at first it was the occasional 2 a day, then she stopped going to work which caused her to lose her job and so started to go out and party. She became an alcoholic.
I had to get a part time job at the local pet shelter to earn money to pay bills. It made sense because I adored animals. Being in high school didn't help my situation at all. It was only my mom, my younger brother and I.
It wasn't until he came along, he was everything I wasn't. He showed me that there was still hope, that there could be a rainbow behind a hurricane.
