We all know the story of Rapunzel. But being stolen by a witch, locked in a tower, and rescued by the prince just isn't... modern. Rapunzel, nicknamed Zella, is the daughter of two overprotective parents. They let her go to school, but when she comes home it's instant lockdown. What they don't know is that Brendan Prince, her boyfriend, secretly visits her every day after school. The only freedom they let her have is getting extensions on her already long, blond hair. But her parents haven't exactly told her everything, either. When Rapunzel finally figures out their secret, she realizes her whole life is a lie.

This is a very old tale of The Brother's Grimm, almost 200 years old, or possibly more. This tale is about a young girl who was born with very, very long hair, who was kidnapped at birth by a wicked, old hag. There are many versions of this tale, such as the King stealing lettuce from the hag's garden, and as a punishment the hag took his newborn daughter. Some involve the hag stealing the baby because of it's beauty and youth. Though many versions of this tale has been told over the years, the plot remains the same. It was about a young girl with long hair who was kidnapped at a young age by an old hag, and then confined in a tower with only one window. This version of the tale involves the hag's past. This is the tale of love, loss, and grief. And of course, a little bit of magic.
