It all started when I was nineteen you know the time where you're ready to leave your parents place, well I got to live on my own I really don't know if my parents are alive or not though,they didn't follow me when I told them it was a bad idea to go to the quarantine zone. Now I live my days killing zombies and eating out of the trash, I guess beggars can't be choosers. I would have thought everyone form my high school was dead but I was wrong, I ran into a guy who says he knows me but I took a vow never to trust anyone but I'll just see how useful he could be.

" Ughhh!" she shouted
When I turned around I saw that the last zombie was latched on to her arm, she killed it and looked at me with painful eyes.
" W-what s-should I-I do, are y-you ok?" I stuttered
she chuckled little " Cayden you know what to do, I can't turn into one of those things Cayden so please just do because I can't.
I looked at her with tear filled eyes, I know it had to be done. I took my axe from my belt, she held her hand out and tied a piece of cloth around her arm she bit on a piece of clothing and motioned for me to do it. I raised my axe and the sunlight hit it as it came down, blood spattered on my face and hers she was trying no to be to loud be I knew she had to be in excruciating pain unfortunately It wasn't a clean cut I had to bring my axe down again. The clothing came out of her mouth and she screamed before passing out. I quickly wrapped a rag around her now stub of a hand, I carried her to a safe place before passing out myself.

She....I....... I was running through the thick branches, pushing the leaves out of my way with all my might. I had to get away. The wet, brown, ground made it easier for me to slip and let her red, chilling hands slip around my innocent, scarred body, not knowing where she would take me next. I was almost out of breath, but I had to keep running if I wanted to make it out of this forest alive. My red dress was getting torn to shreds, and my hands and feet had mud all over them. My long, bushy brown hair was getting hooked on every possible branch, making me push my hair in the back of my dress, just like I used to when I was forced to cook everyday for my loathsome 'parents'. Returning back to the real world, I had to stop otherwise I would black out. I took a few seconds to catch my breath silently, and to look around to see if she was there behind me. I was looking up at the tall, old tree when I heard a twig snap behind me. Just like in the horror films. I turned and ran in the same direction, not daring to look back and see her wretched face fixed on my body. I sprinted and sprinted, but slowed down when I saw I was heading to nowhere but a ragged cliff. The unknown would me known if I continued to run and jump. I stopped two metres away from the cliff and looked down to see a valley so far down. If I jump..... I die. If I let her take me..... the unfair horribleness awaits me. I had no choice. The 'things' are as you would call it zombies but of greater skill. They disguise themselves as humans yet they will not hesitate to kill you and eat you. If someone is a 'thing', automatically presume them dead, or at least soon to be dead. It will always take about 2 weeks to become fully changed, hopefully you can chop of that body part in time for the infection to stop. If you can't, put an end to your soon to be painful and horrible turn/death. These beings as I announced only a moment ago, look exactly like a human, two way to tell if they are one or not, their attitude and their eyes. They don't have emotions, only hunger and let me tell you, they will go out of their way to eat you, they will speak but it will sound different... Deformed almost. The eyes are usually the first to become infected, they become slightly red at first, as time progresses so does the intensity of the color red in the eye. The color in their eyes they once possessed, will seem dull, it will seem as if they are unfocused or unfamiliar with their surroundings. That is all I can tell you for the moment Lexi, but know their are people waiting for your arrival, and we are waiting for you to end this suffering race." I frowned, thrown off "Do i...remember?" "Do you remember..." she starts but her voice falters. She glances down at the sand, biting her lip debating whether to even continue. She then takes a shaky breath and finally looks up. Eyes locking with mine " do you even remember how you got it?" Her question hits me like a slap. As she swung her axe right over my head , hitting another zombie square in the head, sending a spray of blood all over the back of me. "We have to jump!" i screamed at everyone at the top of my lungs, i looked around to find at least 75% of our group either eaten or eating some one else. i knew i was being too slow in making my decisions, but all i could concentrate on was the sound of my heart beating in my chest. i pulled nicol to the floor and away from the zombie that nearly chewed off her head and watched her send a knife into its head with what seemed no effort at all. Then i turned and moved quicker than i have before to stop the zombie that i saw coming for me from the corner of my eye, i stopped dead in my tracks as my heart sank into the bloody stream of my circulation of life.
