A Fairytale//
Based heavily upon Leelah Alcorn's suicide on the 28th of December 2014. She was a transgendered girl who lived in America, and was 17 when she was killed by vehicular impact. Her suicide note and real life story including her best friend, funeral, #LeelahAlcorn (and the hastag's impact on the world) and parents were all taken into deep consideration throughout this piece of writing, and hence, direct quotes from her suicide note may have been used. Also, various quotes from fairytales were taken, such as "listen with your heart, you will understand" from Pocahontas, "Never say goodbye because saying goodbye means going away, and going away means forgetting." From Peter Pan and "Trust your heart and let fate decide" from Tarzan.
I hope this tale brings to light the huge injustices the LGBT+ still faces today.

Leonard holt, his father, a drunk unwilling to accept his sons transition makes it his personal mission to make his son "see straight" even if it means taking extreme measures. As if it weren't hard enough navigating a move to another state, transgender teen Foster Holt finds himself in the midst of an all-boys school. Foster has the chance to start new with classmates that don't know he is trans, but everything is ruined when the captain of the cross-country team walks in on him changing. Distressed, Foster tries to convince the boy that he belongs. Together the two boys navigate their sexuality and identities. Will this newfound friendship spark something more between them?

His parents try really hard to get him to be a girl and after he got into a fight at school he has to go to detention where he meets a boy called Devin. While his own view about himself is challenged, he finds himself touching rock bottom. But Nick is just trying to be accepted as himself, Unapologetically. This is a story written for pride month 2024. The In Between

"I'm your-- dammit-- your guide." ~ James Abbatiello, a 17 year old committed suicide. It might've been Ricky's fault. At least, a little bit. Then something else unfortunate happened. Ricky also died, getting into a fight with the people who practically killed James. Now, James has to lead Ricky through the In Between to get to The dead world, AKA Tamir, but there are many obstacles they need to face, including birds trying to eat them, wolves and bees, and fighting their own shadows on top of a train. ~ Also I'm writing this with a friend, so it's not just my work.
