The sequel to Inheritance....

Then there was shuffling. Movement. She froze where she was but did not dim the light of her Fire Sword, though in any other situation that might have made sense. Blackhearts feared the light as many people fear the dark. It would throw them off-they were all blind anyway.

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

"Kristy."

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.

"Kristy."

She was almost afraid the flame of her sword would be extinguished by the unexpected terror that came over her. She could see the light struggling from the blade in her hands, reflecting her mental struggle not to give into fear.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 '𝐀𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞' 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 'I love you. I'll find you. I love you.' The lengths one can go for love. The sacrifices one can make for love. The tortures one can endure for love. Marriage takes effort, and no one will find out just how much effort it takes like Sanya Pevensie will. Quests and transformations and mortality, and struggles painful enough that the Sanya who had been a Princess could never have imagined. Grief drives even the most wise of people to rashness, and no one understands that more than Edmund Pevensie does. Brash brothers, compatriots that were once enemies, and a Narnia that the Edmund of the Golden Age would not have recognised. But marriage and grief are not the forté for all. Susan prefers solemnity, and brooding in silence. Lucy thinks listening is all she can do, in her little body. Peter must protect his land, damned be the pretty dark eyes of the Prince who had stolen his home. And how easy humans are to manipulate? No one knows that better than the Faerie Queen. - 𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦: Dark themes, violence, strong language, nonconsensual voyeurism, self-harm, attempted suicide, sexual scenes, mental and physical torture, use of f-slur, unintentional animal abuse, dubious sexual consent, reflection on past trauma, memory of attempted rape and assault, murder. . . . . . #3 in #narniaau (27/06/2022) #7 in #medievalfantasy (27/06/2022) #90 in #faeries (8/8/2022) •••• The Alliance Series, as found on @EdsGryff: 'Alliance' 'The Heirs' 'Moonshine' 'Fairytale?' ••••

Sᴇǫᴜᴇʟ ᴛᴏ 'Aʟʟɪᴀɴᴄᴇ' 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝑩𝒐𝒐𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 '𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆' 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔 The stars give comfort, but if one knows how to read them, they may spell disaster and ruination. In the midst of personal tragedy and conflict, darkness spreads over the land and into the hearts of people. Death beckons, as does lust, and wonders never cease. The allure of the unknown casts its net over all prey, and past pain never fades, which the Heirs learn, over and over again, even as fresh aches form. Happiness and prosperity are both fleeting and flickering. Fleeting, like lovers disappearing into the dead of night. Flickering, like a candle flame, snuffed out just as a man's breath. King James tries his best, Princess Selene fights to be important, and Princess Seraphina struggles to be free. What happens as the Golden Age ends, and the Dark Age begins? Stormy had always felt a little different. She didn't catch on as fast as her siblings. She could barely weild a sword. She didn't have wings. She had no friends (although that didn't bother her). But above all else, she wanted to be seen as an equal in her fathers eyes. It wasn't until a mysterious man appeared in a dark forest that she began to see that desired future become a reality. SECOND book of THE CALAMITY SERIES Completed ✔ *some recurring characters but I think this can be read as a stand alone
