But now they've been dating for over a year and half, and due to unfortunate circumstances, Nico even lives with the Solaces. Will can't keep these parts of his life separate so he decides that they'll be able to hide Nicos vampireism from his family so that way they can all meet. or: Nico is a vampire and Wills family hates monsters. He brings Nico to meet his family anyways so they have to hide the fact that Nico is a vampire from them. Shit hits the rocks as expected. It doesn't help when they have to pair off to explore the Parthenon and Percy and Jason take off, leaving Nico alone with Will. He had allowed his infatuation with Percy to rule his life, his decisions, for far to many years. His wings had grown heavy, and he'd drowned. Icarus had made a mistake. He strayed too far, entranced by the kindness of the light. The dark wouldn't be as welcoming, ushering you in with no hesitancy and crossed arms. That didn't work out so well for Icarus. So, Nico would allow this filter, this light, to cover him, shroud him in kindness, and possibility, and warmth. But he would not cross further.
