Alexia bor i Los Angeles, hon har gjort det i ungefär två år nu, men hennes liv är inte som det en gång var. När Alexia bara var 18 månader så skilde hennes föräldrar sig och sen dess vet ingen vart hennes mamma tog vägen. 

Alexias pappa träffade en "ny" kvinna några år senare vid namn: Jennifer Adams.
Hon blev Alexias styvmor och nu behövde Alexia inte längre vara orolig över att bli mobbad över  att hon inte visste vart hennes biologiska mamma befann sig, ingen visste ens om hon var vid liv. 

Men när Alexia var 16, alltså för två år sen, då begick hennes far självmord. Alexia minns det såväl, hon satt i sängen i sitt rum, det var en kall höstdag mitten av oktober, och hennes styvmor gick in i hennes rum och berättade att hennes pappa hade varit med i en tragisk tågolycka. 

Men när hon hade bott i Los Angeles i några månader, då träffade hon en kille, en kille som hon ville lära känna och vem vet hur detta kommer sluta! Kommer dem bli vänner eller något mer?
