"Café Vanellas sits in the middle of a bustling side street just off downtown Montréal, and here's an interesting factoid: it's staffed entirely by elves. "

=====

In a world populated by humans, elves, satyrs, dragons, and the spirits of other clans long past, Toriv Vanellas is just a 30-something Montréal city elf trying to make a decent living as a small business owner. Surrounding him are his sometimes overbearing but always loving parents, friends of all kinds, a string of men of varying repute...and a university professor by the name of Mahendra Singh, whose timid exterior may be concealing the man to end the parade of men.

A story about family, friendship, identity, duty, love, and coffee.

Reserved and private, Jon is rocked with a glitter bomb of queer affection when he collides with former crush, Kurt. Jon's an introvert. Kurt's an extrovert. Jon's never had a boyfriend. Kurt's hooked up a hundred times. Jon's devoutly Christian. Kurt said 'f*ck you' to the whole charade of religion that left him hurting and homeless years ago. Kurt's out, rocking his queer identity loud and proud onstage. Jon is...well, it's complicated. He thought he'd made peace with his sexuality, but his role caring for children in a Christian not-for-profit group home doesn't permit him to have a gay relationship. Jon's so stretched carrying full-time school and full-time work, he needs his housemate and best friend, Cary, to remind him to eat. Where would he even find the room for a six-foot tall, fabulously queer boyfriend? When Kurt shows up on Jon's doorstep, hungover and more fragile than he appeared under the spotlights, something has to give. Tentatively rekindling their romance in the nitty-gritty of their adult lives, Jon and Kurt have everything to lose and everything to gain if they take the risk to hold each other close. ☆Featured on the Wattpad @FreetheLGBT and @NA reading lists!☆ Straight/Gay/Bisexual/Trans/Demisexual/Ace. Cis/queer romance. Diverse cast. Found family themes. Christian, LGBTQ2A affirming parents. Christian, LGBTQ2A affirming church. [WATTYS WINNER 2022] What's it like to have everything you ever wanted? To be utterly, ridiculously, completely HAPPY? Pretty worrying, actually. *** In this Watty Winning (!!) standalone sequel to "All Good Things", we visit Alice, her family and friends at the All Good Things cafe. A lot has changed in 5 years. Her marriage is back on track and steamier than ever... at least when there isn't a kid within earshot. Fortunately, the youngest is in the smelly grip of puberty himself and just wants to be alone. Their daughter, the entrepreneurial prodigy, went off to university only to return disillusioned by life, love and Kierkegaard. Good thing the cafe is still afloat... just about. It's hard to make ends meet when you're trying to change the world, one plant-based latte at a time! Just as things are starting to look a little dire, Alice becomes an unwitting TikTok sensation and kids all over the city start copying her moves. Now, a corporate chain wants a piece of the action and Alice will have to decide whether she can stomach a return to the soul-suck of corporate life in order to keep her dream alive. [[70,000 words]]
