Ever been attacked in school by a war machine, and forced to leave your city, before realizing the world is unsafe? Probably not. But Chloe has. 

Chloe Hawtekinsee lost her father at the age of 8, but his death was always a mystery.  On her 16th birthday, when her city is attacked, she is forced to leave, and somehow escapes, along with her best friend's brother.

She goes on a journey she never thought she'd have, and is faced with troubles all along the way, but at least she gets to spend it with her favorite person...well until she discovers a secret about him that leaves her begging for answers, and worst of all, the person behind all of the attacks is none other than...well I'm not going to spoil it for you, but just read to find out ;)

And to her shock, he took a step forward, blocking the gap she had just created. "You seriously don't see what I was trying to do up there?!" he asked, almost in disbelief. "Do you have any idea how long I've been waiting to do that?!" she couldn't believe how loud he was suddenly. She had always known Lucian as a calm person with a soft, almost brooding voice that he never raised. Now it almost sounded excited, it was interesting seeing a new side of Lucian Black. - Something is happening at Cross Climb High-school Although it seems fairly normal, students going amongst their days unbeknownst to who they travel life beside. Blake Collins was forced to move schools, along with her four best friends.
