It's been a month since the invasion of the United States. The attackers of America are patrolling cities, looking for survivors. Adult survivors they simply kill. The underage, and charge them with an unknown source of energy, which has the effect of a drug. Once it's given to them, they want more; it makes them stronger, faster, superhuman. The attackers bribe them with more, and use them as their enforcers. Survivors refer to them as the Charged. Six sole survivors of the Jackson Prep School of New York City now live in the harsh, post-apocalyptic world. Battling the ominous attackers, hunger, their emotions and the mystery behind the attack, they fight to survive and bring back the America they once knew.

The world has been changed by a series of massive earthquakes that no one knows the causes of. Very few people seem to be left from the rubble but a small group of people that have forged out a living on New Virginia Beach. Two of them, namely Ezekiel and Milena, have questions about the pasts that they do not remember. Everyone has questions of why things are the way they are but life must go on as long as it lives. However, as these people begin to discover the truth of what happened, a series of events begins to unfold that could reshape the whole world again. (Sorry that I changed POV in the middle of the story. I will go back and edit the whole thing to third person one day =B )
