In this story it bounces from Johns character to Memphis's character throughout. It's about Halo. Memphis is a twelve year old girl in a world of war. Her parents were killed in a fire caused by a permethian attack. She lived in six foster homes for four years. UNSC found her listening to music in a tree at twelve, she's the newest recruit, and UNSC is making her a super soldier to help fight the war. Will she survive the war, or her teammates? Johns parents died in a car crash caused by a covenant attack when John was eight. He spent two years of his life in four foster homes. UNSC found him at ten climbing a dangerously tall tree. He's the fastest learner out of anyone here. Oh, and don't think you're gonna get a glimpse of what he looks like, he never takes off his helmet. *If you play Halo, you know who John is.*

[COMPLETED] War. Sacrifice. Two inevitabilities of human nature come together once more as the human race encounters its latest Great Filter. The Covenant. A genocidal alien alliance hell-bent on the utter destruction of man-kind. A theocratic society convinced that humanity is the only thing standing in its way between eternal damnation, and ascension to godliness. As humanity quickly realizes they're outmanned, outmatched, and outgunned they call on the young and vibrant to defend their way of life. Joseph Gray. An ordinary young man living an ordinary life finds his society crumbling apart at the seams due to an ever-intensifying plague of insurrection that seems to spread faster than it can be quelled. After joining the Marines to make a difference, to bring stability to his society, he soon realizes that he's no more than a minuscule cog in a very large machine. Harvest. A major farming colony at the edge of UNSC-controlled space goes offline. Just as Gray thinks he'll coast out his short-term service in the Corps, tragedy strikes, and a new player enters the field. Now Gray must desperately juggle the responsibilities of maintaining his relationship with the girl of his dreams, raising a future family, surviving the Covenant onslaught, and most of all: Keeping his humanity. The Covenant doesn't play by the rules in their quest to exterminate humanity, and as the UNSC grows desperate, Gray's world will be rocked time and time again. ***Warning: Mature Content*** Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to Halo. *NO sexual content* "Who else knows about this place?" Hazel asks looking over my gaming system while Abby looks adoringly at my books. She is a major reader just like me. "Caydon, Dad, You, Abby, and I." I absently say while going through my mail. One in paticurly catches my eye. I have not a clue whom it's from. All it has on it is my address. Hmm, guess that one will get opened first. I pull out a business looking folded piece of paper. I turn it around to see that it says: 'For Sophia-Grace James's eyes only.' I look around to see Abby reading a book in one of the bean bags and Hazel playing Call of Duty: World at War on the Xbox. I unfold the paper to read what it says. What I read makes my blood run cold. Dear Grace, I know you are wondering who I am, I promise that you will find out soon enough. I want you to meet me Thursday, July 8th 2012 by the baseball field, behind the concession shack closest to the woods at 9pm Come Alone. I will know if you are or not. -Fury -------- Grace is your typical popular American girl, or so the rest of the world thought. She has been through more problems and drama than the average inmate in the local prison. -Witnessing your parents being killed. Check. -Thinking the murder was put away for life. Check. -Learning to fight like a pro. Check. -Learning that the people you though you knew so well aren't exactly who you thought they were. Check. This book is filled with more drama and problems than an episode of Pretty Little Liars and Jersey Shore combined. *Check out the trailer on the side made by Happiee*

In a Panem that followed a history different from what we know. In such a world, tributes are pulled from the same pool, and so in addition to being reaped, sometimes you just know you don't have a chance; two boys from District 2 would plow through the rest, and all you can do is cry. ---------------------------------------------------------- She lived in 12 for generations of her family but not in the filth, nor was she in a family of victors. No. She was the child of peacekeepers, she was trained to fight, special schools for them, and even her name only being once in the reaping bowl as she grew no matter what she did. People like her would be 12's future peacekeepers, raised and trained on site for generations of their families to be sure they know all there is to know about the district they'll keep in check. ---------------------------------------------------------- She grew up in 12, in the poorest part of 12. She'd hunt for her family with her friend and would exchange some wild game with the on and off boyfriend she had, son of the baker. Her life was hard. And so she watched with envy those kids that got fed for nothing, taught to handle themselves so that in the future they could control them. ------------------------------------------------------- How will life turn out if two of these people get to meet under different lights, in the 74th arena of the Hunger Games?
