Things happened. Horrible things in Ashwick Valley. Jack Aldugawin was found dead in his home and his death shocked everyone, especially his closest friend, Josh Cariban.
As Josh walked home from school that day, he heared cries of terror from the abandoned Freelorn Manor, and found Cara Gandi, trapped and injured. He saved her and took care of her. The two became good friends and each day, Josh believed Cara became more and more mysterious, and he wanted to know why.
Cara revealed to him the terrifying secrets of her past, including a carnivorous demon and love that spiralled out of control.
