"What do you mean by you're alone? You don't have anything to go back to?" I asked staring at him.
He didn't even bother to look at me.
"Go home." he ordered.
"You're not my Alpha, my dad, or my-higher power," I huffed.
"You're right, I'm not. I'm worse," he said and looked over at me. "But I could protect you,"
"Not sure if I'm comforted by your words, to be frank," I admitted.
He chuckled and ran a hand through his beautiful silky hair.
"It's not a matter of comfort. If I wanted you to be safe around me I'd ask you to bring your boyfriend with you,"
"Well, I'm not sure Jamie would approve of any of this. And how do you know I want to go anywhere with you?"
"Because, baby, you want answers. And I'm the only one who has them."
I wasn't sure if it was the pet name, the smile, or the tone of his voice that had me melting inside. But I knew in that moment that I would do anything he asked of me. I knew I would obey him. He was right. I did want answers, I wanted to know why this suck ass town. Why me? Why him? And what WAS he exactly? Who was he?
"Okay."
