Years and years and years ago, 999 broke down all over the world. Emergency services crashed. Police, Doctors and Firemen as helpless as everyone else.
Several acts of mass disaster occurred all on the same day, including a mass shooting, a tsunami, a wildfire, a hurricane, and a tornado. This caused the emergency services to take an overload of calls; eventually leading to the world-known help line to temporarily crash, leaving all calls unanswered. The results were tragic - Just over a quarter of the population died, and the fatal event went down in history as the 'Disaster Call'.
The calamitous event is now taught in history lessons to bored kids, alongside The Titanic and The World Wars. They don't care. It didn't happen to them. Until it happened again.

It could've been someone else, but I was cursed with all this heart break. All this realization. Your mind tends to wander when all hell breaks loose. ☆☆ Hello! This story is an outcome of a drastically declining future. When humanity was completely lost and there was no one left on Earth taking care for it or others. Humans have become soo busy in their own lives that they have completely forgotten about others and even other lives on Earth.
