This is a collection of different stories meant to add depth and backstory to the fantasy universe of The Flower Chronicles. Each chapter is a one shot story of a hero from one of the many races, lands, and time periods in the mythical world of Evadum. You should probably read this with The Flower Chronicles to get the full experience of it, but it isn't necessary. You also don't have to read the chapters in order since they are all relatively independent. Most of this has been inspired from old D&D games. As a clarification to the title, it's not necessarily about mostly untrue stories in Evadum's history, but rather each one centers around characters who are legendary in the people's memory. I realize some of these might seem rather lengthy for short stories. Therefore, I've decided to add sections to each of them! Each story follows a simplified pattern of the hero's journey, so the section headings will all be the same with little description following them, but I may add more as the story fits. 1 - The Backstory 2 - The Call to Action 3 - Meeting the Mentor 3 - The Trial 4 - Crossing the Threshold 5 - The Boss Battle 6 - The Reward 7 - The Road Forward

[2024 Amby Awards winner] For as long as he can remember, Caldor has been forced to live a life of crime. With a group of his fellow thieves, they've stolen from practically all of the wealthier citizens of Redreach over the years. They have a system of how to go about their business, and it works. Until one day when it doesn't. Captured by guards and dragged off into the dungeons, Cal expects to be executed. What other fate could await a lifelong thief? But instead he is given an offer: his life will be spared if he steals a specific book. The catch? The owner of said book is a dragon. Caldor ends up accepting, having little choice, but he doesn't believe he will succeed. What Cal assumes will be his death turns out very differently, however, when he actually meets the dragon-a surprisingly human-looking and handsome creature called Idriseth-and very quickly becomes enamored with him. Cal may have come to steal the dragon's book, but now he wants to steal his heart. But will the always guarded Idriseth let him? Can a dragon even love a human? --------------------------- [word count: ≈ 40 000 words] ★ Featured on @Romance ★ • Book 1 - The Thief's Dragon • Book 2 - The Thief's Mate • Book 3 - The Thief's Choice • Book 4 - The Thief's Bargain • Book 5 - The Thief's Half-Dragon • Book 6 - The Thief's Lovers
