The Lone Dove #1 Love and Trust are two very important ideals, but what happens when the moment you lose the two most important people in the world and are left with an inheritance, and a company you find you cannot trust anyone else with. That is Poppy Parker's predicament. My predicament as a teenager that breaks tradition at Queen City high school, both a shadow and the subtle centre of attention. That was the dangerous part. My inheritance placed me in the most precarious of positions, finding managers to trust, finding school to be complicated and not for the tasks at hand, but because my closest friends knew next to nothing about my family. The Parker name. Its a common name, a common label...not a title, not a legacy. I am the last legacy, it's my birthright to live up to this name. The Elite at this high school find her shadows worth following, worth connecting with, worth trying to understand...that is the last thing she wanted. I'm a private person, I was raised to be that way. My best friends were always kept at an arm's length, only told what they needed to know, not all that they could know. The Elite interfere with this line of safety. What happens when they get too close? What happens when my shadows reveal my secrets, making my friends question my absence at school, my authority over professors, and my power over the elite themselves? It all burns down in flames.
