Samantha doesn't have many problems with her life. She's a typical teenage girl who also happens to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, commonly called Mormons. She lives above her parents' veterinary clinic with Mom, Dad, and her two younger siblings, in Lakeshore, California, just outside of San Diego.
But when Samantha takes on an extra-credit project for biology class, her life is about to get a whole lot less normal.

Stacy Travie is a seventeen-year-old senior in high school. She's not the prettiest nor the skinniest girl. She's never caught the attention of a single guy in her life. But, that all changes when she accidentally texts the wrong number. Nick Cam is an eighteen-year-old senior in high school. He knows he's cute and constantly has girls competing for his attention. But he's never liked someone for real. That all changes when a random person texts him. Stacy and Nick meet over text and keep it that way for a while until texting turns into calling and soon to the desire to meet. Not realizing that they in fact have known each other all their lives and actually, have encountered one another in unfriendly matters, the two are afraid the other will be ashamed when they meet one another. Stacy isn't as pretty as her personality over text, and Nick's reputation isn't as pretty as it is over text.
