Soon, however, Finn starts leaving the tree house more frequently and he becomes a little distant. You don't take it too personally, but his ghosting mood starts to become a common thing in your relationship, and your suspicions arise. He'll leave late at night and come back the next day when it's almost dawn, covered in bruises or even still bleeding. He tells you it's fine, plugging in excuses for his behavior, until one night in the woods you find him with another girl. You had never been on quite steady terms with most wizards, but this one had to be the worst. The two of you have dark history and with Finn now getting in the mix without his understanding makes him a dangerous advantage to her. If this "training" keeps up with him coming home with more injuries then you will have to stop them. What if this girl doesn't stop? What if she keeps going until she kills him? What if she kills him to get to you? You can't risk your hero getting hurt by one of your own enemies. Once upon a time he lost you when you were too far from reach; you aren't going to lose him now when he's this close. If she wants to play tug of war with Finn then you'll entertain her.
