My assignment for a Thomas More project includes a Creative Writing Prompt. We had been studying WW2, 1900s, and the Holocaust. (This was two years ago in school. I have since graduated and working on other things. So this is OLD.)
Please comment and review, so I know what needs editing.
I wish I could have expanded the story more, but I ran out of time. If requested enough, I'll give my shot at a rewrite.

An excerpt : "...I went back out to a bunch of men yelling at the little boy, Kicking him screaming foul words in his face. Full to the brim and steaming with rage I pulled each one off of the boy. I held the gun out that had been in the guard's holster. "You'd best leave and leave this CHILD alone" I saw one snicker so I put the gun away and punched him in the nose breaking it and blacking both his eyes. I grabbed his suit and lifted him off the ground shoving him into the wall "LEAVE THIS CHILD ALONE! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME!"..." It's been years since the collapse. Countless lives lost, history, and cultures forgotten to the horrors we live today. As it stands now, only a fraction of the settlements survived since the start of the war against the monsters described outside the wall that protects us. The only way to move around the world is by air. The seas became deadly with mutated wildlife and the ground too dangerous because of the monsters that roam our once great cities. The year is 2043. The future. Or more accurately; the time of war. Humanity is at war with Anthros - the United Federation - under the charges that the UF infiltrated multiple 'human' nations and detonated their nuclear warheads, utterly ruining their stability. A small team of U.S. Marines have taken a helicopter after being cut off from the rest of the Remnant Army, and are trying to get back over the frontlines: Out of recently-occupied enemy territory, when their luck runs dry. [NO LEMONS, SOME DEPICTIONS OF VIOLENCE, GORE, RAPE, AND MORE, PLEASE DO NOT READ IF YOU CANNOT HANDLE ANY OF THESE THINGS]

Nina is captured by parbeing man. He plans to turn her into his pet. He knows she won't go down without a fight, but he's not prepared for how much 'fight' she has packed in her small body. His new pet leaks into every area of his life, changing things in ways he could never have imagined. Parbeings are the new and improved apex predators of Earth. Created from gene editing, they are the perfect humans, so perfect that they are no longer even considered human. *** Content Warning: The protagonist of this story is a victim of abuse. I reach the end of the alley and turn to face my foe once again, but he remains where he is, still blocking my path but not approaching either. New plan: when he gets close, duck under his arms and make a run for it. Now I just have to wait. Before a minute has even passed, another armoured soldier appears and joins the first. This just keeps getting worse. How am I supposed to dodge past two of them? "What do you want now?" the new soldier grumbles. This one must be Alex. "Look at this cute little human I found. She's feisty. I think she's perfect for you." I glare at them. "I don't want a pet human. That's your disgusting fetish, and I'll have no part in it." "Oh come on Captain," the first soldier whines, "You don't have to fuck her, just train her to be obedient. Surely you can control one measly wild human? You are a captain after all. When you're done, you can just get rid of her, like I do with my humans." What the fuck? For a brief moment my fear is replaced by anger. Who do they think they are, talking about me like I'm some kind of wild animal? "Get the fuck away from me! You freaks!" I screech. The first soldier just flashes an evil grin. They don't budge. War for Change
Humanity used to thrive in 2035 until a group of scientists started playing God. This science team was recruited by all the top world leaders and they've begun receiving demands for a super soldier, and they began experimenting on animals, which gave the scientists expected results, but like all experiments, there was a chance for failure. The humanoid animals, or Anthros for short, started getting smarter, faster than the scientists expected, or reacted. The Anthros broke free and took what was left of the 'White Mist,' the substance that created them, and put it into the planet's air supply. Long story short, most animals worldwide have begun transforming into Anthros, and started devastating the world's militaries before attacking cities. Humanity is now facing extinction with their last millions while the Anthro civilization is over 2 Billion strong and counting. The war between Humans and Anthros has lasted for over 50 years, and while humans may be disadvantaged against the Anthros higher strength, speed, endurance, and intelligence, they still beat Anthros with improvisation, adaptability, and tactics. The war has destroyed all four Eastern continents, leaving behind a creature both Humans and Anthros call Reapers, who are husks of the person they were. The Anthros have near complete control over North America and are fighting Humanity in South America, but the main human bases are located on the Hawaiian islands. With death seeming inevitable for human kind, can nothing stop humanity from extinction? Zero has just graduated from high school with good marks and a scholarship. His family wanted to celebrate, so they said they would wait for him. He went back to grab his wallet, and as he turned around, he started falling in a wormhole, closing afterwards.
