Freedom. That's a new concept to Nova. Freedom, power, hope. Hope leads to disappointment and power leads to corruption. Why would Nova want that? She'll just get caught and put in prison again. What's the point if she'll just start right back at square one? It won't do anyone any good obviously. She'll just be taunted by the liberty that everyone else has. It seems her fate is sealed: she won't ever be free from the king, she won't be free from the knights, and she definitely won't be free from her mind, so what's the point of chasing after hope? 
Friendship. Yet another foreign idea. Nova so desperately wants a friend, or at least someone to talk to. It's possible to make a friend, right? No. Friendships end one way or another.
