Freedom. That's a new concept to Nova. Freedom, power, hope. Hope leads to disappointment and power leads to corruption. Why would Nova want that? She'll just get caught and put in prison again. What's the point if she'll just start right back at square one? It won't do anyone any good obviously. She'll just be taunted by the liberty that everyone else has. It seems her fate is sealed: she won't ever be free from the king, she won't be free from the knights, and she definitely won't be free from her mind, so what's the point of chasing after hope?
Friendship. Yet another foreign idea. Nova so desperately wants a friend, or at least someone to talk to. It's possible to make a friend, right? No. Friendships end one way or another. The last alliance Nova had she ended up killing her "partner-in-crime". How can she even be trusted with another person? After all, everyone she's ever known has died.

So this is a story I wrote about a girl named Nova. She lives in a world where everyone has a supernatural power. Nova is 13, and if a person's power doesn't show by the time they're 14, they're given to the Government to either be tested or killed. The Government basically makes all the decisions for the whole country. So, Nova's 13, and she still hasn't discovered her powers. When her birthday comes, she still has no power. She can either be sent to the Government, for either testing or death, or she can risk her life running away. I created this story, I created these characters, the characters and the plot are mine.
