"Everything in this world is temporary and I can't decide if that's the most exciting thing ever, or the most terrifying," Melany said, breaking the silence.
"What do you mean exactly?" I asked, confused.
"Everything is temporary. Like I'm not going to be in high school forever. I'm not going to be in college forever. I'm not going to be 18 forever. It's all temporary," she explained.
"What about us? Are we temporary?"
"Of course we are. Whether we break up tomorrow or if we get married. If we get married and stay married until we die, it's still temporary. 'Till death do us part.' Death would separate us, therefore making us temporary."
Then it was quiet again and we kept walking, hand in hand. She seemed like she had forgotten the entire conversation in seconds, but I couldn't get it out of my head.
