At the age of 10, children must make their journey to the central district in Shimmerson. Only children who turned 10 the previous year are eligable to be chosen by one of the seven Dragon Gods themselves. Every five years, tokens are handed to those chosen by the Gods, pendants to girls and rings to the girls. Each token represents the Dragon God who chose that child, and with this they are given an elemental power to possess. Every ten years are a Dekas, which is when the legendary Gold and Black dragon may choose their apprentice, one who will possess all of the elements. Aurera, a poor farmers daughter defies all rules and proves that she will make a great dragon apprentice.

She wanted to be a Dragon Rider after she heard the stories about them from some traders from Eura, who come to Arctica to trade with the villages. Kaya's prayers to Suka the Polar Bear, one of the fifteen Great Beasts, are answered when a woman claiming to be Dragon Rider comes to their village. When Kaya touches a dark purple dragon egg and it hatches Kaya becomes one of the legendary Dragon Riders. Nimue is a non important six year old from Oceanus. She is always swimming in the ocean where she feels comfortable, but on land with people she never feels comfortable, especially when the so called people are whispering about her calling her a freak and a witch. Nimue wanted to get away from her old life and her parents. She spent almost every waking moment in the ocean to get away from her village. Nimue's wish however comes true when she touches a dark blue dragon egg from a Dragon Rider, and it hatches for her. This a fanfic of Wings of Fire, Spirit Animals, and The Inheritance Cycle. Magic from Harry Potter. None of these series belong to me.
