When a simple app takes over her friends' lives she has nothing to do, but wonder, 'Why is this so intriguing?' Sean, one of Vee's very close friends, has become a constant watcher of the game Nerve. Due to his interest (along with threatening bankruptcy), Vee decides to check it out. She thinks it's just a silly game until she gets dared to play.

Ignoring the warning signs, Vee stays in the game longer than she should have. "It isn't," I widened my eyes. "Just do it, you will love it trust me," "Ugh, I think your crazy is rubbing off on me," I defeatedly stated. "Then you should be thanking me," That stupid smirk was back, and prominate through his handsome features. "And why is that," I asked quizzically. "Because crazy people live longer. Your welcome," I laughed harder than I should have to this before putting my butt on top of the railing and sliding down. Alex Rider is a spoiled arrogant jerk who is known to show up to school late and never try in class. He parents are finally done with having to pay to get him out of trying in anything. They decide to get him a tutor, but what they don't realize is they are setting their son up with the angel he's been wishing for. His tutor is a polite, sweet girl who doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Everyone is her friend, but she doesn't go out much. Just like everyone in the world, she has a chip on her shoulder that she's been trying the shake off since freshman year.
