One day, Mallory Roberts got a call that changed her life. Her father is stranded on an a nearby planet due to a loss-of-fuel emergency landing while testing one of the Algeron Airspace Industry's new ships. The catch - the "nearby planet" is out of range for the AAI to come and retrieve him and the ship. If the AAI cannot retrieve a test ship out of range, the next of kin must come and get them to bring them back. Which is where Mallory comes in.
