But if this is how I've always felt, why is it that he managed to change my mind?"
Alice Carson has never believed in happy endings of any sort. Don't get me wrong, she isn't depressed or anything. She's just been through enough in this world to know that all good things must come to an end.
Jake Reynolds doesn't care for happy endings or sad endings or endings in general. He's never been the guy who cares about anything and he doesn't plan on ever being that guy.
When the two people who have never had any kind of interaction are suddenly paired up for a chemistry lab, the awkward tension is unavoidable. But a pair of singed eyebrows and plans at the small town diner turn it all around.
