Abrielle lived in Goodrich, New York. Just the mere mention of the city struck fear in many. When her mother abandoned her once again, her wish to escape the dangerous streets was granted and she was sent to live with her wealthy, estranged uncle. She believed it was a blessing, but her hopes of a new future were quickly destroyed when the demands of business came upon her.

Old friendships and loyalties began to haunt her from miles away and the stress of her new-found life becomes tested. Abrielle finds herself stuck at an impasse. Does she leave her new life that is possibly ill-suited for her and return to the only life she's ever known? One thing is for sure; be careful for what you wish for, for all that glitters is not always gold.
