Beth Kawabata is a Force-sensitive Padawan who escaped Order 66 at the sacrifice of Jedi Master Sian Jeisel on Bogden 3. Now a prisoner of the malevolent Empire, she is tortured for information and is forced to choose between the Dark Side and eventual death. 

Everest Tuk'li is the daughter of a clone and a Jedi Knight who was captured by the Empire because of this and tortured for information. While there, she meets another Force-sensitive who actaully had more training in the Force than she did. Together, the two try to escape with the help of an ex-Jedi named Zllen, a Rodian who belonged to a group of Knights called the Circle.
