Trevor Ryston has kept to himself for most of his life. From supporting his not so stable family and keeping his head above the waves with all his AP classes and working almost everyday of the week. Hoping to get a full ride scholarship to a prestigeous college while supporting his slightly dysfunctional family, his single mother, and six siblings is a hassle. But who is he to complain? As long as he has food on the table and all is well with the family and friends in his life. Trevor sees no reason to be uptight. Minus a few complications, for Trevor everything is alright. But for Lacey Ardinent that was all wrong. Nothing in her life was together. After her drug-addict mother and abusive father are put behind bars Lacey moves from a big city, Ogden, in Utah to a small town, Westfield, New York. After making the 1,855 mile trip with her brother, Hampton after their cousins volunteer to be their new legal guardians. For most people it would be a bitter moment, but for Lacey when she found out she was leaving Ogden behind all she could hear was the sound of relief. She was finally leaving the hellhole she called home for the first 16 years of her life. Now her wounds, inside and out, finally have a chance to heal. After years of bullying, neglect and abuse coming from the people she once referred to as mom and dad. As well as protecting her brother from so called demons. Lacey can't even begin to describe this feeling, this feeling she just might identify as hope.

After bumping into a seemingly very cute boy by the name of Trevor in the hallway on her first day at her new high school she expects curses, insults, and maybe even a few kicks and punches. But surprisingly, he recognizes Lacey as the new girl and escorts her to her classes. Lacey finally feels she might be up to making friends. Now, the main question is: what does Westfield, and a very cute Brunette have in store for her?
