This story follows the daring adventure of Gonmata and Yrsa, in the land of Kievan Rus'. 14th century medieval world was one full of controversy and mystery. This journey is no exception.

Yrsa is a human born and raised north of the Kievan Rus' territory, in search of her mother she traveled south. She could not have expected to meet a traveler by the name of Gonmata. Although, it was a rather odd companionship; especially since it all started in a rather unorthodox way of saying hello.

Gonmata lived his entire life in the land of Kiev, located in central Kievan Rus'. Completely comprised of furs. Gonmata in particular, is a wolf. Losing his family in a tragic incident, he had no other choice than to turn to the life of thievery to sustain himself in a kingdom larger than he could comprehend. Soon he began to travel to neighboring lands, trading and collecting books on magical practices, with the little money he had.
