My stomach dropped the second we made eye contact. He had long and dark brown hair, which curled under the baseball cap he wore backward. The subtle curve of his nose was covered in light freckles with piercing green eyes and lush eyelashes to match. He was tall and thin, carrying a beauty I couldn't comprehend. I didn't even let my eyes trail down to what he was wearing. I lowered my gaze immediately, feeling my cheeks grow hot. I watched his feet shift awkwardly in those navy blue Vans.

"I can't marry you," the words slipped out of her mouth, paining her in the process. "Why?" He questioned, "Feiha, you know how I feel for you and I'm hundred percent sure that you feel the same. Then what is it that's stopping you from marrying me?" Feiha shook her head with an unhappy smile on her face. "You think feelings are enough for this?" "What else do you want then? Loyalty, commitment, respect, you name it and I'll give it to you. Hell, if you're worried about money then be assured that I have enough wealth to support several of our upcoming generations." A desperate tone had taken over his words, piercing Feiha's heart. "Generations," she scoffed. Tears were threatening to roll down her cheeks, making her look up. "What if I tell you that I'll never be able to give you kids? What if I tell you that there's a sixty percent chance of me never being able to conceive? Are you still willing to marry me?" She saw his jaw clench. His chest was heaving. His lips were parted as his brain processed the huge revelation. His eyes, however, never left her. They were fixated on her with an intensity that shook her. He sighed, and then began to walk in her direction. Stopping right in front of her, towering her, he clutched her gaze with his. Her heart was beating so fast and her stomach ached so bad. She knew this was it, this was her fate being sealed. " Zhulfah Bint Ilyas? " It would be weird to ask the Imam a question like " Hey look. There was a really nice old friend of my dad's pestering me to be his third wife and I didn't want to go to Ogbomosho and his proposal came along and everything kinda rushed from there, so does that mean I was in my sane mind when I said...yes?" Surely some level of insanity meant she wasn't sure, right? Must the question be a yes or no answer? Can't it just be a maybe? Something along the lines of ' maybe I'll marry him 'cuz my heart is kinda telling me to but my brain's answer isn't forthcoming?' Wait...does that even make any sense? " Zhulfah Bint Ilyas? " She hadn't had breakfast but she felt like she downed a whole packet of laxatives with the way her stomach danced weirdly. " Zhulfah... " " Yes! Yes! Yes! I do! I do!" She said a bit too loudly into the mic, and was instantly filled with regret. She heard her best friend chuckle lightly behind her and she wanted nothing more than to give her a good beating. She glanced over at her husband to be in a few minutes, and her face heated up when she caught him smiling amusingly. " I mean", She cleared her throat. " I do...accept him as...as..my husband." " Well, I think I'll have to speed up the event and legalize these two", The Imam joked and the whole congregation burst into laughter. Zhulfah's face warmed up several degrees, and she was so sure her face would be burnt before the end of that day with the way she was blushing to a severe degree. The Imam was still laughing, and she knew it won't look like a joke much longer if she had a scissors to his beard.

Muhammad thought of Madeenah as a child, younger than his baby sister, although way more mature. She seemed to have created a bond with his daughter and that was all that came to his mind about her. Not her smooth caramel skin, or her captivating light brown eyes and neither did her sweet voice do it for him. Madeenah thought of Ya Muhammad as an arrogant and stoic person but a really good father. In truth she was terrified of him. She hated the way he would look at her, as though she was less important than him. She hated the way he never spoke unless he needed to. She hated the way his voice washed over her, making her shiver. She hated his height and how it made him tower over her small frame. She hated him but she just couldn't stop thinking about him. So what happens when the two end up being brought together by an unusual arrangement . He's older, she's younger. He has a daughter and she has barely begun life. Will he let go of the past and try to find happiness or will he drag her down with him? --------------------------------------- "Let's get married." He says with such a straight face that I feel stupid as I chuckle. "What did you just say?" I ask in disbelief. "You heard me Madeenah." He says in a gravelly tone. "Why would you want to marry me?" I shake my head. "You don't like me." "I like you well enough to be married to you." His broad shoulders shrug in his familiar black suit. What is going on with him? And what have I gotten myself into?

"I promise you. No one will ever take your place in my heart." ××× "You didn't tell me you were engaged to her," Zameer says gritting his teeth. "Seriously man, I am not. What's with you? How many times should I convince you?" Shehzad spoke blushing, then suddenly flew up from the chair and asks with wide eyes, "Wait! Why do you care if I am engaged to her?" "Forget it. So then it means Amyrah is already engaged to someone." "Then she'll get married to him too?" Shehzad looks at Zameer worriedly. "Yeah... Shehzu, what if this marriage dosen't work?" Zameer asks grinning slightly. Then Shehzad says quietly, "Then I can marry her, right?" "What!!!?" ××× "Stop it dude!" Humaira deadpanned. "I don't know how," He murmured. "What did you say!!?" We screamed. "Why did you drive then!!?" I yelled hitting him on the head with my backpack which was a bad idea because he looked back, rubbing his head. At that moment, the four of us screached together. "Look front!!!"
