Âme Sœur was an alternate universe where everyone had a soul mate. Everybody was born with a birthmark on their wrist. The birthmarks are all different symbols and shapes. Only one other person in the world has the same birthmark as them, making them soul mates.

Most people just waited to find each other, letting fate bring them together. Camila Reichman, on the other hand, was a bit impatient. She felt like she was the only person in her town who hadn't found her "other half" yet. Even her best friends Ava and Stella had already found their soul mates.

People knew that they were soul mates when their birthmarks would shine brighter than ever before and spark when they touched. Until then, the symbol would only faintly glow - indicating they were getting closer to finding each other - or not even glow at all.
