"Mom?" Lucy asked rubbing her eyes.
"Lucy dear, I'm sorry to say, but I won't be around for a while." He mother says. Lucy noticed her eyes were glossed over with tears. "Why?" Lucy asks. Her mother shakes her head. "It can't be discussed." She replies, her voice cracking a bit.
Lucy starts to sit up. It was hard for the seven year old to imagine her mother leaving her. "I don't want you to leave!" She exclaims.
