Ceddirick is clasped to the idea of paradise that he has as living in front of the beautiful ocean. With the waves, ocean has been witnessing everything that is happening with him for almost his entire life. He has been holding on with his pasts, and the ocean had seen every tear and breakdown he has.
Falling in love isn't a cue, but just like how the ocean witnessed everything about Ceddirick, it also witnessed how Ceddirick fell in love to a woman he can't even spend a minute with. It was something that Ceddirick tried to hold on himself. He has been sick of best friends turning into lovers cliche, but only remembering how he hates himself to consider as best friend of Liana, their new neighbor, always restrains him. As both knew feelings are mutual, they have to struggle turning friendship into something both have no idea how, especially as having crisis including the sickness that Ceddirick knew Liana have.
The sickness that will make Liana forget everything, including him.
