12 year old Morgan Bergo has spent her entire life thinking she is worthless; thinking she is a waste of space. She suffers from Chronic Depression.
When her brother is killed, she attempts to end her life by flinging herself off the highest thing she can find: in this case, the window of her room. She fails, but this near-death experience forces her brain to shut her down, sending Morgan spiraling into the darkness inside herself..
She wakes up in a world of demons, elves, talking cats, giant dogs, and fairies; but also a world of destruction. A warlord who everyone is afraid to name has taken over the realm: Elgeroth, as the locals call it. And the word is, he's on the hunt for anyone who could take him to the Outer World: anyone who acts strange, anyone who doesn't know their way around the realm; someone like Morgan. In trying to get away from this fearsome villain, Morgan only draws herself closer to him, eventually being captured by him, and meeting another from the Outerworld...

*Book One of the Amor Fati Series* Prince Calanthe Sáevon, once the child of a beloved queen regnant and now a disgraced prince, goes on a journey to re-discover his identity after experiencing tragedy, loss, and abuse at the hands of his Aunt, Queen Hyacinth of Eglantine. The small kingdom of Eglantine has fallen under the control of the Tarynians: the dreaded conquerors of Gharash. Each kingdom must produce a token of loyalty to give to the Tarynians as a sign of good faith and loyalty. Calanthe is chosen by Queen Hyacinth to be the sacrifice that saves Eglantine from the worst of the Tarynian King's rage. Hyacinth forces Calanthe to play along to distract the Tarynians from the brewing trouble in the East, but it doesn't unfold as she expected. Calanthe, once free from the torture that he experienced, begins to deconstruct the lies he had been told since birth. Growing up in their sister's shadow wasn't easy; surviving after she left has been harder. In the nine years since their Kingdom was destroyed by the cruel Falcondar family, Kiridan has had two objectives: to stay hidden from the Falcondars, and to figure out why their sister never came back for them. They discover that she started an underground organization to overthrow the Falcondars...and then died three years ago while on a mission in the mountains. Determined to make something of their sister's efforts - and to be recognized as more than the less-talented sibling - Kiridan decides to break into the organization known as the Infernal Uprising, taking their rightful place among its leadership. But as the attack on the Falcondars draws nearer, they'll have to learn that leadership is more than barking orders, and that trust is difficult to earn. When the chaos spirals further than anyone expected, and new powers come into play from every direction, a lot of people may have to reevaluate what they stand for...whether they're an Infernal Uprising soldier, a traitor, or a Falcondar Princess herself. Sure, through the eyes of those in power, the world has always been in conflict. But for the next generation waiting to take over, the conflict is just beginning. And for the rest of the unsuspecting universe, it hasn't even begun. Which came first, the catastrophe or the change? And what's the difference in the first place? ******* ONGOING.
