Notorious pirate, thief and seductress Varys Shellayne roams the open seas of the Seashade Isles in search of both fame and fortune as any other pirate would. But when her prized maps, The Black Charts, are stolen from her possession, she takes her revenge out on the seaside village of Vinsworth. While in search of the town's reclusive citizen, known only as the Baron, she discovers that this man had not only foreseen her arrival and fled the city, but also left behind a mysterious note and trail of clues behind. However, when a series of disappearances, deaths, and betrayals lead her down a new path, Varys finds herself not only fighting for her freedom and that of her crew, but for the fate of two worlds.
